Noise

Image
Noise, a simple word, means simple, but for a person going through depression and frustration, noise is that extra sound which keeps coming back in your ears, again, again and again. This noise is not a word of wisdom, neither a noise of support. This noise is the sound of cribbing, torture and anger.
And to stop it from happening, you have that feeling of breaking away. That urge to break away from things or just break away from all those who are holding us. That need to be away from this noise, away from people, away from stuff and away from constant nagging of people. Is this feeling associated with frustration? Or is it disappointment in life? Or is it fear which haunts you and you feel to be away from that? Or as simple as anger.
A feeling of destroying is indeed a dangerous feeling as you lose control over your mind and action takes over. These actions can hurt someone or yourself, still we don't care because at that moment you are not worried about the consequences. You …

Getting Rid of Writer's block

Image
So it was a while since I last wrote a blog.. And that's because I was going through what everyone calls it 'writer's block'. Since I had no topic in mind to write about, I thought why not I wrote about 'Writer's block'. I know it looks lame, but it is something which needs attention. And I wanted to write something to get rid of this block so why not this..!!! After writing this blog (but not posting it, I started writing more and now I want to share what I had experienced, so here it comes..)

What is this so called writer's block? How this happens? Ways to get rid of??? Normally I do Google to find the answer, but this time I wanted my brain to work out the answers. Writer's block in simple word is not writing anything and whatever you write you feel wrong or unsure about it. This happens due to many reasons like preoccupied mind, a negative feeling about writing or topic, no passion for writing, too many things happening, busy life, thoughtless …

Book Review: Fix Your Problems - The Tenali Raman Way

Image
When I was teenager, we used to see this show based on Tenali Raman. Before the show started, I already knew many of his stories and seeing cartoon of same was indeed reminiscing childhood days. Now in adulthood, these memories fade away and you end up remembering stories of soap opera and comic character converts into superhero movies. Tenali Raman stories are very witty and smart, but you lose touch with the content and crux of character.
Reading book like 'Fix Your Problems - The Tenali Raman Way' by Vishal Goyal in adulthood is not just an exercise to remember the past or cherish those movement' but also finding out solutions to our problems. In many ways, these small stories give us hint of how to find our way when we are faced difficult situation. During the period of reading endless heavy books with too much information and emphasis on how to live your life, Fix Your Problems - The Tenali Raman Way was a fresh book and reminder of how I used to love reading book wh…

Job Insecurity

Image
I have been constantly hearing about the firing policy of most of the organisation. Many employees have been Asked To Leave (ATL) or fired by the organisation for various reasons. So many people are sitting unemployed and the number is just keeps on increasing. Also, those people who are still in the organisation, don't have any security about their job. Any day, organisation will walk to an employee and will inform him that he is no longer required by the organisation. One day you make good money and the next day, sitting at home unemployed. There is no stability, no security, no understanding, nothing! Employee are no longer treated as an asset to the organisation. They are more of a liability which they will get rid of anytime if it exceeds the limit.
How a person can know when he his turn to get fired will come? How a person can judge the time he will spend in a particular organisation? In sales kind of profile, if you aren't bringing sales in first 2-3 months, the chances …

Domino Effect!

Image
We have all played with domino and we know what happens when one domino fell.. All the other domino fell one after another. Such game also applies in life. You will realise that our life is also like domino. If one good or bad domino fell, other  one fell after another. Each thing in our life is interconnected and effect on one leads to effect on all.

The reason why there are so many self-help book, concept, philosophies and studies is because they all talk about balancing your domino in such a way that fall of one doesn't lead to fall of another one. To explain the logic, let's take an example. Mr. X is working in corporate firm and living with wife and parents. One fine day, he got a real bad shouting from office due to some mistake in work. This shouting lead to frustration and anger in Mr. X this means one domino fell. He brings this at home and when his wife ask or tell him something, he gets angry at his wife. Another domino fell. Wife is taken back by such anger and sho…

Book Review: Tough Time Never Last, But Tough People Do

Image
There was a time when I ended up reading self-help books one after another and this book was part of that phase. 'Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do' is a book by Robert H. Schullar. One of the motivational speaker and pastor in the USA, he is the founder of  Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California and helped many people cope up with the difficult times of their life. With his teaching and his own attitude towards life, he has come up with ways through which one can be tough enough to face those tough times and come out of it as achiever.

The book is for anyone with only 120 pages to read, it covers vast topics related to one's life and focuses on scenarios like a recession in the job market, financial crises, losing making businesses and many more. He often shares his own experiences and problem for people to associate with it. He himself had gone through tough times and sharing those experiences give this book a personal touch. Some of his teaching is wort…

Easy to Give Up, Hard to Continue

Image
Being in no target oriented job, I never realise what it means to achieve sales figure or target. A recent entry to sales make me realise that it's is indeed a big achievement to get closer to your target. Being non sales person, I don't take pressure of achieving target or getting prospective customers. I see people around me and I see people struggling hard to get prospects and business.
1 week went - no prospect, 2 weeks went - no prospect. 1 month went - no prospect. Suddenly we are hit with the fact that it's not working. Am I doing something wrong? Am I not sounding good? Am I calling wrong people? We keep on wondering what is the thing which we are doing wrong that we can improve it and get prospective customers. We consult, we talk, we do research, we study, we do everything possible and still 1 week went - no prospect.
Nothing happens. No increase in numbers, no positive outcome.. This leads to conclusion that we are not good. We should give up. It's not your …
