Story of Half Relationship - #HalfGirlfriend

Image
I am a big book geek and I have read all the books of Mr. Chetan Bhagat. I have even seen all the movies based on his books. When Blogadda shared that they are coming up with the contest for the Half Girlfriend movie, I was more than eager to write for it and share the story of one of my very good friend and his half relationship cum half girlfriend.
Due to privacy reasons, I have given a different name to the character.
My friend Aman Mehra, a tall, charming young man, fresh out of his MBA college and excited to join his first job. He never thought that he will get manu first time experiences in his new life. He joined an airline company in sales department. Before the job started, they had a week long training program. There were 4 training sessions running simultaneously and during one such session, they had a lunch break with another group of trainees. During a short lunch break, he saw someone - beautiful as ever, lively as anyone can be. For Aman, it was infatuation at first sig…

Noise

Image
Noise, a simple word, means simple, but for a person going through depression and frustration, noise is that extra sound which keeps coming back in your ears, again, again and again. This noise is not a word of wisdom, neither a noise of support. This noise is the sound of cribbing, torture and anger.
And to stop it from happening, you have that feeling of breaking away. That urge to break away from things or just break away from all those who are holding us. That need to be away from this noise, away from people, away from stuff and away from constant nagging of people. Is this feeling associated with frustration? Or is it disappointment in life? Or is it fear which haunts you and you feel to be away from that? Or as simple as anger.
A feeling of destroying is indeed a dangerous feeling as you lose control over your mind and action takes over. These actions can hurt someone or yourself, still we don't care because at that moment you are not worried about the consequences. You …

Better Tomorrow !

The girls have some connection with their hair. Some grow them long, whereas others keep it short. As a child, I have always kept my hair short because I hated plait. Short hair means you can keep it open forever. Once I came to college, I started growing my hair, but till medium long as I felt that long hair is big maintenance. For the last 23 years, I craved for long hair. Wanted to see how I will look if I grow my hair. Being an experimental personality, I crave for change and never ever stick to one thing for a long time.

So I started growing my hair, cutting my hair and growing again till I reach a length beyond which my hair never grew. It wasn't even that long still for me that was the longest and I crave for more long one. It never happened. I had thin hair and after growing it became thinner. I had coloured my hair so the tips were of faded color. Though I had a decent length, I never had healthy hair. Sometime it looked good, sometimes it felt dried out. The most commo…

Getting Rid of Writer's block

Image
So it was a while since I last wrote a blog.. And that's because I was going through what everyone calls it 'writer's block'. Since I had no topic in mind to write about, I thought why not I wrote about 'Writer's block'. I know it looks lame, but it is something which needs attention. And I wanted to write something to get rid of this block so why not this..!!! After writing this blog (but not posting it, I started writing more and now I want to share what I had experienced, so here it comes..)

What is this so called writer's block? How this happens? Ways to get rid of??? Normally I do Google to find the answer, but this time I wanted my brain to work out the answers. Writer's block in simple word is not writing anything and whatever you write you feel wrong or unsure about it. This happens due to many reasons like preoccupied mind, a negative feeling about writing or topic, no passion for writing, too many things happening, busy life, thoughtless …

Gone beyond Gone…

Image
My latest book obsession is Maze Runner by James Dashner and the way he has built the character of Newt who is just a teenager with quality of good leader but at the same time being everyone’s friend. This character has just brought a different perspective and made me think of him as my spirit animal that just guide me and help me with my normal daily life.
The character has nothing great or super power. He was second in command boy with a lot of calmness, knowledge and understanding. He managed people nicely and never shown anger or command to get his work done. In the book, the character is infected with a disease called Flare, which eats your brain and make you go crazy. This crazy is not mental crazy. This crazy is when a person doesn’t know what he is doing, he becomes animal who can do anything, also eat human if he is hungry. Flare starts catching up to Newt and slowly he becomes a different person who struggles a lot to hold on to his sanity. He puts an effort to be calm and re…

Domino Effect!

Image
We have all played with domino and we know what happens when one domino fell.. All the other domino fell one after another. Such game also applies in life. You will realise that our life is also like domino. If one good or bad domino fell, other  one fell after another. Each thing in our life is interconnected and effect on one leads to effect on all.

The reason why there are so many self-help book, concept, philosophies and studies is because they all talk about balancing your domino in such a way that fall of one doesn't lead to fall of another one. To explain the logic, let's take an example. Mr. X is working in corporate firm and living with wife and parents. One fine day, he got a real bad shouting from office due to some mistake in work. This shouting lead to frustration and anger in Mr. X this means one domino fell. He brings this at home and when his wife ask or tell him something, he gets angry at his wife. Another domino fell. Wife is taken back by such anger and sho…

Book Review: The Broker

Image
John Grisham wrote one of the finest novel and I have loved his work. Hence, I picked up another edition of his thriller - 'The Broker'. Based on the review, it sounded very good and secretive, but honestly, I didn't find it that good compare to his earlier books like A Time To Kill, Runaway Jury to name a few. The story starts with a bang, it instantly grips the reader with many questions. But as the story develops it reaches a stagnant stage where the reader (at least me) felt bored and lost interest. The only thing kept me reading was the big secret. Obviously I won't reveal here what it is. For that, please read 'The Broker' :D

Broker talks about Joel Backman is "the Broker" who is one of the big broker-lobbyist in Washington DC, USA. He is well connected with  influential people within the government and made big money in a very short span time. Due to fall in some deal, he was convicted and pledge guilty leading to life sentence. Due to politic…

Book Review: Faults in our Stars

Image
Now a days it is a tragedy that everyone of us have someone in family or friends who has or gone through cancer. It is one of the dangerous disease. Written by John Green, 'Faults in our star' is book on those people who are suffering from cancer. The story doesn't talk about the disease or even about suffering from cancer in detail. It talks about how the main characters, Hazel Grace and Augustus Walter, despite having cancer, live their life and try as much as possible to be normal.
The main character, Hazel Grace, is suffering from lung cancer and is on experiment drug which has increase her life span. She visits a support group where people with cancer come together and share their experiences and grief. In the group, she meet Augustus Walter and Isaac. Augustus (Gus) was suffering from cancer but he is cured whereas Isaac is about to lose his eye sight because of it. The story evolves around the love story of Hazel Grace and Gus and their common interest - a book '…

Marriage - All Glitter and No Gold

Image
We all at some point want to get married or actually get married but post marriage effect sometime affect us more than marriage process. I was talking to my friend who recently had arrange marriage and he was bit disappointed with life after marriage. He was wondering whether he should have gone with love marriage than arrange. Known devil is safer than unknown one. But does it make any difference whom you marry is known person or no? It doesn't! Because at the end of the day, marriage is all about ‘adjustment’!
In love marriage, even though you know the person, staying with them under one roof is different ball game altogether. Either it's arranged or love, formula of good relation lies in adjusting and accepting. Most of the time, problems in relation arise due to expectations. We want other to be like us or do things we like. Why enforce our likes and dislikes on others? Why can't we live with the fact that other is not me?
We always look for perfect person, perfect rel…

Time: Every second counts!

Image
Despite having 'N' number of watches in my cupboard when I need one, none of them works. Time – such a precious thing and we waste it every day of our life. We are under illusion that we have lots of time whereas in reality we don’t know how much time we have. We delay, we procrastinate, we forget but time goes on and on and on. Suddenly we realize we have not just lost the time but we also lost the opportunities.
What an irony that we acquire various gadgets or watches to show us the right time but we don’t know when is the right time. We have taken time for granted and we realize the value when it is lost. Acquiring watches will not give me the time neither it will tell me that right time of my actions. It’s our instinct, our senses which tells us the right time. Often we ignore what we feel or what our instinct tell us because we are too much deluded by our surroundings. We are people who get easily influenced, easily made to believe. Brands and Advertiser’s take this fee…

You say am Failure, I say am Survivor

Image
Often in life we think we are failure especially when we don't achieve what we aimed for. Many of us will take it positively and say if not this time surely next time whereas others will be depressed by their failure and they will be stuck in this black hole where they will start believing that they are failure. Obviously that is an extreme case.
Failure starts with us believing that we have failed. Once we get failure then another, eventually we will be stuck like those old radios on same odd frequency. Till the time we don't tune the right frequency we will get that disturbing sound. The key to get over failure is by starting to think as ‘survivor’. Rather than saying I am a failure, why not say I am survivor. When I use word 'Say' doesn't mean it's literal sense. See yourself as survivor; believe yourself as survivor, act like a survivor and react like a survivor.
Human's have that distinct sense of survival. We don't give up easily and that is in our…
