Colgate Magical Stories

I find reasons to blog and this was perfect way to craft a blog along with the help of the kids. Colgate Magical Stories simply involves space adventure based on kid's imagination. Since I don't have my own kids, I played this game with my nephew. I handed him the characters from the box and created a bedtime story.  Here is a story created by my nephew, Manav and me: After a long training process, Romit and Romila got ready to board the rocket for their first step out of Earth. Romit was very excited as this was his childhood dream and was the primary driver for his interest to get into the space agency. Both of them were greeted by their team and after the greet they boarded the rocket. The rocket was fired and they set sail to move to the nearest planet from Earth  - Mars.  This was a planned expedition to mars where they wanted to collect samples for analysis back on earth. Noise, a simple word, means simple, but for a person going through depression and frustration, noise is that extra sound which keeps coming back in your ears, again, again and again. This noise is not a word of wisdom, neither a noise of support. This noise is the sound of cribbing, torture and anger.  And to stop it from happening, you have that feeling of breaking away. That urge to break away from things or just break away from all those who are holding us. That need to be away from this noise, away from people, away from stuff and away from constant nagging of people. Is this feeling associated with frustration? Or is it disappointment in life? Or is it fear which haunts you and you feel to be away from that? Or as simple as anger.  A feeling of destroying is indeed a dangerous feeling as you lose control over your mind and action takes over. Book Review: The Zahir

After ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho, ‘The Zahir’ was my second book. The book is written from the point of view of unnamed celebrity author who talks about his life and his search and his Zahir, a blinding obsession, in the book. The author lives in Paris with his wife Esther, a war correspondent. His life is turned upside down when he finds out that his wife is missing. 2 years goes and there is still no sign of Esther. The unanswered questions and unknown reason of disappearance leads to pain and suffering. Author to release his pain and writes a book about love. This book brings Mikhail, a young boy from Kazakhstan, to meet the author who helps him with the whereabouts of his wife. The book talks about how he rediscovers himself, the energy of love and also falls in love with French actress. There are various talks between Esther and author which are thought provoking.
