A Letter to Life - #DearZindagi

Image
Dear Zindagi,
So many thoughts come to my mind when I look at my life, when I look at moments which we have created, the sadness we have gone through, the joy of achievement and also regret of the past. Every year I keep thinking I am still young and every birthday is a reminder that I am growing faster. The moments pass by and we feel as if we are in a trance.
This letter is not to reflect what could have been, neither it is to talk about the roller coaster ride we had. This letter is to tell you, dear life, that you have been an amazing partner (though we may have few fights), a strict teacher (though I hated your class), a supporting boss (though we had our differences) and a silent listener (though you talked more sense). There are many instances where your twisted way of working has always intrigued me. This letter is to share what I have learned in this 20 something year we shared together (Yes, I will still not agree on the exact number).
This life, this partner is given to ever…

The girls have some connection with their hair. Some grow them long, whereas others keep it short. As a child, I have always kept my hair short because I hated plait. Short hair means you can keep it open forever. Once I came to college, I started growing my hair, but till medium long as I felt that long hair is big maintenance. For the last 23 years, I craved for long hair. Wanted to see how I will look if I grow my hair. Being an experimental personality, I crave for change and never ever stick to one thing for a long time.

So I started growing my hair, cutting my hair and growing again till I reach a length beyond which my hair never grew. It wasn't even that long still for me that was the longest and I crave for more long one. It never happened. I had thin hair and after growing it became thinner. I had coloured my hair so the tips were of faded color. Though I had a decent length, I never had healthy hair. Sometime it looked good, sometimes it felt dried out. The most commo…

Now a days it is a tragedy that everyone of us have someone in family or friends who has or gone through cancer. It is one of the dangerous disease. Written by John Green, 'Faults in our star' is book on those people who are suffering from cancer. The story doesn't talk about the disease or even about suffering from cancer in detail. It talks about how the main characters, Hazel Grace and Augustus Walter, despite having cancer, live their life and try as much as possible to be normal.
The main character, Hazel Grace, is suffering from lung cancer and is on experiment drug which has increase her life span. She visits a support group where people with cancer come together and share their experiences and grief. In the group, she meet Augustus Walter and Isaac. Depression - Serial Killer of Life

Image
Few months back, I heard the devastating news that one of my favorite comedian, Robin William died rather killed himself. He was found dead in his apartment. Yet another star who took his life and reason for such suicide attempt?.... Depression!
A successful person, world renowned comedian, humanitarian, established actor, a person who has best of the world, gets chance to work with best of industry people; a person who brought smile and laughter to millions of people, couldn't bring smile and happiness to his own. He publicly stated that he is fighting excessive drinking and drug abuse but noone knew that he was also fighting depression, the serial killer who works behind the curtain and takes life of anyone - successful or poor person.
It was indeed shocking for me to hear that how a person who appears to be so happy and fulfilled with his life is going through depression. What he felt was not enough in his life? Or what was bringing no satisfaction to his work? Even after having…

Time: Every second counts!

Despite having 'N' number of watches in my cupboard when I need one, none of them works. Time – such a precious thing and we waste it every day of our life. We are under illusion that we have lots of time whereas in reality we don’t know how much time we have. We delay, we procrastinate, we forget but time goes on and on and on. Suddenly we realize we have not just lost the time but we also lost the opportunities.
What an irony that we acquire various gadgets or watches to show us the right time but we don’t know when is the right time. We have taken time for granted and we realize the value when it is lost. Acquiring watches will not give me the time neither it will tell me that right time of my actions. It’s our instinct, our senses which tells us the right time. Often we ignore what we feel or what our instinct tell us because we are too much deluded by our surroundings. We are people who get easily influenced, easily made to believe. Don’t take it for GRANTED!
