Book Review: Rich Dad Poor Dad

Rich Dad Poor Dad.. Both Daddy Greatest! Before I start reading this book I heard so much about it. “Its must read.” “It’s so nicely written.” So again I changed the order of my “To Read” list. And indeed it was worth it! ‘Rich Dad Poor dad’ is book which tells you about the cruel reality of today’s world. How money works, rather how peoples mind work with regards to living their life & managing money. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki with Sharon L. Lechter is not just a book to read but its a learning book. Its a text book on basic of Financial Management. The book start with group of people playing game called Cashflow. Its game where people are in rat race and all they have to do is get out of Rat race & come in the Fast track. Rat Race defines the majority set of people who are good kid, good student, who get graduated, get a secure job or career. They make money but soon they start spending it by using credit card, buying home, furnishing it etc which

Swing Ride, Mood v/s Life!

Everything in life is not constant. Some day we are happy, other day we are sad. All this is part of our mood. And its swing, change, move but it never stays constant. Why is that so? Why can’t we control it? We are always trapped in it. Either we move with it or we get upset with it or we make others upset with it. It’s so obvious. It’s written on our face what kind of mood we are having? What makes it change? What makes us change it? However you observe yourself or surrounding, you can never figure out what’s the reason behind Mood Swings. Some of you know what is the reason behind it, but that’s not always the case. When we are ill, we are sad, when we are with our loved ones, we are happy. When we are celebrating, we are excited. When we are confused, we are angry. When we are over loaded, we are frustrated. We are constantly in the trap of Mood. We try and try to change it but there are hardly any cases where we succeeded in it.     Most of the time, Mood is affected by our sur

Book Review: Thousand Splendid Suns

Thousand Splendid Suns.. Splendid Read!!! Once again I read the book of Khaled Hosseini, and again he has done a splendid job. Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is emotional & touching book. It takes you to the time where Afghanistan as a country struggles to keep their religion intact. The book covers time from Russian invasion to Mujahideen’s battle to the emergency of Taliban. The story revolves around two women, both with different background, come together and support each other in life’s ups & down. The two women are Mariam and Laila. Mariam, girl to bitter mother & disloyal father, is forced to marry Rasheed, shoemaker in Kabul after her mother’s suicide. Rasheed is very brutal and violent in nature who takes out his anger on Mariam every time especially after Marian failed to give him a child. Laila on the other hand is born to modern & educated family. She is brought up in an environment where education to girl child is important. She also has lo

Book Review: The Prophet

The Prophet.. Sign towards the Spiritual Road !!! Going on with my book reading I took the thinnest book I can find in my pending list of “Books to read”, THE PROPHET By Khalil Gibran. And frankly this will be the only book which I liked after “The Monk who sold his Ferrari”. The philosophy in this book is like those which you can apply in day to day life. It’s not difficult to understand life but it’s difficult to understand ourselves. I will write different review for this book. The reason for this is, 1: this book doesn’t have any story but more like one person sharing his views on different aspect of life. 2: I want to share the knowledge of this book thru the small note on each part of life by the author. 3: I am bored of writing in my own language. Just kidding! So it starts with the arrival of the Ship. After years of waiting, the time has come to move on & live yet another life. Is there pain to leave the place or is it joy of the ship coming? Whatever

Please! Be Pleased!

From childhood to adulthood to older age, we are trying hard to please everyone in our life. We please our parents by being good kid. We please our teacher by doing the homework. We please our friends by doing what they tell us to do. We please our partners by taking care of them. We please our children by giving them what they what. We please everyone in our life expect one important person. Me! We try hard not to break anyone's heart. We try hard to be perfect for someone. We try hard not to disappoint people. We try try and we try. But have we ever asked ourself the question that am I pleased? Am I happy? By doing what others want, am I getting the satisfaction? It's very hard to go our own way or stick to what we really want. Most of our energy and mind is occupied by the thoughts about how to satisfy others. All our efforts are used in giving happiness to others. Even though we try hard to focus on ourself, we get trapped into the pleasing net. And only way we can av

Chain of Thoughts !!!

- There will be many wrong turn in life, but that doesn't mean we stop driving. - Black hole does not suck your universe; it just takes you to another universe. - Make it or break it.. Make your identity or break other people's perception - Road to success is unknown but what is known to us is the mode thru which we will reach our destination. - Other people's success should not be our jealous point. Our jealously has to be with our past best performance. - Pain or wound is not the reminder of mistakes; they are indeed the reminder of the lesson learnt. - It ends here but it begins there.. It stops here but it moves there. Because life never stops, nor should you. - Life is like train.. Sometime fast, sometime it’s slow. Many times it’s crowded or totally empty. If you are in wrong one, just get down & catch another train. In the end all we need to do is catch the right train.   - Every laugh doesn't mean you are happy. And every cry doesn't mean you are

I am sure you must be thinking what the hell I am writing. Or do I even know the spellings or what? What I am trying to tell you is new way of looking at the most famous word in Work life. Frustration! Many of us are familiar with the words like stress, pressure, deadline, work load and so on. But all this words in the end sum up to single word & that’s Frustration . Frustration on meeting the deadlines, frustration if computer doesn’t work, Frustration  over people’s attitude and most of the time we are frustrated to do the work only. It’s an emotion human being express when something is not going according to planned or decided. In short its disappointment over something.   Getting frustrated over something is of no use. It’s not going to make your life simple, it’s not going to make your work simple and surely it’s not going to give you satisfaction. So why waste time and energy over something which is insignificant. Why we boil our blood over something so worthless. Instead o

NavRatri.. 9 Day of Fun!

India is country of festival and celebration, and one of those festivals is Navratri. 9 days where people celebrate Durga Maa. In Kolkata there is huge Durga Puja held and in Gujarat, Dandiya n Garba night is organised. But in city of lights, Mumbai, both Puja and Dandiya celebration take place. Nav (Nine) Ratri (Night) is not just 9 nights of devotion but it's about colours of life, joy of dance, meeting friends, forgetting about the trouble and lastly valuing what we have (God's gift, Life) 9 Night of Fun have 9 Lessons of Life. Dance as if no one is watching you Dress up not because people will appreciate you but to tell yourself that you are beautiful People are there to help you even if you are bad dancer in the group. Every success starts with a scratch. So don't be afraid if you are bad or you don't know something. Energy & enthusiasm doesn't come from the external factor. The fire of living life is inside you. All you need to do is light it up! L

Its all about MONEY, HONEY !!!

The world is all about green note, the plastic money, borrowed money, saved money and so on.. In all it speaks of one and onlyMONEY. Every individual on this earth thinks of it, dreams of it, live for it, die for it, kill for it, and do anything for it. No doubt without Money we can’t live in this world but does that mean we live only for Money? A person working in Mill works for Money. The only source of feeding his kids & wife's stomach is by buying food with Money. A person sitting in air-conditioned office also works for Money. Though we claim that I am working to be successful but indirectly we are working to gain Money. From young to old, we all somewhere in our life has worked worked for Money, worked for something better and worked without heart. . Is it wrong to earn money, it is wrong to be successful; is it wrong to have that extra comfort in life? Answer is No, then why we make so much fuss about Money all the time? Yes we all want Money; because that is the onl

Book Reviews: A Study in Scarlet

A Study in Scarlet.. Rather Study in detail! For detective fiction, many people suggested 2 books strongly to me, Sydney Sheldon and Sherlock Holmes. Haven’t got hold of Sydney Sheldon but I did read very first novel where Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson got introduced. A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Since the book was published in 1800’s, the language & style of writing is old English of England. I am not used to reading British novels still it was worth reading this book. I did have many expectations from whatever I heard about Sherlock Holmes. And it did fulfill at certain extent but in many ways with regards to story it didn’t excite me much. Dr. Watson after retirement from the Warfield shares an apartment with Mr. Sherlock Holmes in London. Sherlock Holmes, a young man, mysterious in many ways, is very good in scrutiny. Though Dr. Watson is a little bit skeptical about it but as and when story grows he understands all the reasoning and how a single mark

A day in Positive Attitude Workshop!!!

So my boss sent me to "Winning Positive Attitude" workshop. So I thought why not attend it and take a full day off from my routine work life. And Indeed it was good decision to go for the workshop. The pictures above shows what I learned in the workshop... I wanted a shoe till the time I saw a man without legs. Be grateful to whatever you have in your life. I dreamt of being successful till the time I realised that success is result of being happy and satisfied. Dreams come true. All you need to do is put your heart and soul in it. I complained, cried till the time I realised that every second wasted in life will not be retrieved. Live, Laugh, Love like there is no tomorrow. Lastly, I stopped believing till the time I realised that karma had it's way of giving back what you deserve. Make a Wish and entire universe will conspire in making it true.
