Book Review: Scorch Trials - Maze Runner Series

Scorch Trial is second book to The Maze Runner series by James Dashner. This book continues the journey of Thomas, Newt and Minho from their success story of making out of the maze named as Glade. The Maze Runner book one leaves you with many question as what will happen to the trio and what this Wicked is all about. Luckily, second book do shed some light on the whole story, but still leaves many information unanswered.

In the end of Maze Runner we see that Thomas, Newt, Minho and Tressa along with few other Glader comes out of Glade only to find themselves in the midst of trail conducted by Wicked and lead to a dormitory where they are fed, clothed and rested. Suddenly everything in the dormitory is changed when they get a briefing from Rat Man aka Janson that Glade was the first trial conducted by Wicked to find the cure to the disease name 'Flare'. Book Review: An Ode to Life

Image
I am not a poem reader except when I come across something from a friend or social media. When Mr. Tajammul Kothari shared his collection of poems in a book 'An Ode to Life', I was more than happy to read and share my experience with all.

Poems might look like a simple way to convey the message, but as simple as the craft looks, it is really difficult to draft the emotions. An Ode to Life is collection of poem taking through a person's life from birth to death. It covers various emotions from being parents to ashes to also love and heartbreaks. The journey called life passes through various phases and the book talks about all those phases.
You feel connected with many of the poems in the book as every one of us have experienced that phase or seen someone going through it. The happiness of seeing your child or waiting for your loved one. The book also touches the various phase of our life which is less talked about - Death. A goodbye to life, reflecting over what has been…

Story of Half Relationship - #HalfGirlfriend

Image
I am a big book geek and I have read all the books of Mr. Chetan Bhagat. I have even seen all the movies based on his books. When Blogadda shared that they are coming up with the contest for the Half Girlfriend movie, I was more than eager to write for it and share the story of one of my very good friend and his half relationship cum half girlfriend.
Due to privacy reasons, I have given a different name to the character.
My friend Aman Mehra, a tall, charming young man, fresh out of his MBA college and excited to join his first job. He never thought that he will get manu first time experiences in his new life. He joined an airline company in sales department. Before the job started, they had a week long training program. There were 4 training sessions running simultaneously and during one such session, they had a lunch break with another group of trainees. During a short lunch break, he saw someone - beautiful as ever, lively as anyone can be. For Aman, it was infatuation at first sig…

Colgate Magical Stories

Image
I find reasons to blog and this was perfect way to craft a blog along with the help of the kids. Colgate Magical Stories simply involves space adventure based on kid's imagination. Since I don't have my own kids, I played this game with my nephew. I handed him the characters from the box and created a bedtime story.

Here is a story created by my nephew, Manav and me:

After a long training process, Romit and Romila got ready to board the rocket for their first step out of Earth. Romit was very excited as this was his childhood dream and was the primary driver for his interest to get into the space agency. Both of them were greeted by their team and after the greet they boarded the rocket.

The rocket was fired and they set sail to move to the nearest planet from Earth  - Mars.  This was a planned expedition to mars where they wanted to collect samples for analysis back on earth. They wanted to discover if there is any other life form or anything useful they can get back to the pla…

Book Review: Maze Runner Series

Image
There was once a movie name Maze Runner and I loved that movie. Later, after reading more about it, I came to know that it is based on the book. Still, my intention to read the book was not much. I waited for second movie Scorch Trial to release. I saw the movie, but got confused with the story, I did Wikipedia on the book and got all the more confused. Finally, I decided to take the matter in my hand and read the whole Maze Runner series by James Dashner. The series contains 3 main books - Maze Runner, Scorch Trial and Death Cure. There is 4th book which is prequel to Maze Runner - Kill Order. The book is any day much better than movie as it explains the entire concept in detail, emphasizing on character's quality, sharing their emotions and change in attitude as the entire plot develops in 3 books.
Warning: This review can be spoiler for you if you have not read the book.

Maze Runner The story in all three is narrated by the main character - Thomas. He is transported to an area c…

A Letter to Life - #DearZindagi

Image
Dear Zindagi,
So many thoughts come to my mind when I look at my life, when I look at moments which we have created, the sadness we have gone through, the joy of achievement and also regret of the past. Every year I keep thinking I am still young and every birthday is a reminder that I am growing faster. The moments pass by and we feel as if we are in a trance.
This letter is not to reflect what could have been, neither it is to talk about the roller coaster ride we had. This letter is to tell you, dear life, that you have been an amazing partner (though we may have few fights), a strict teacher (though I hated your class), a supporting boss (though we had our differences) and a silent listener (though you talked more sense). There are many instances where your twisted way of working has always intrigued me. This letter is to share what I have learned in this 20 something year we shared together (Yes, I will still not agree on the exact number).
This life, this partner is given to ever…

Book Review: Harry Potter and The Cursed Child

Image
Being a huge Harry Potter fan and after reading all Harry Potter books more than 5 times, I was super excited to get my hands on Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. The way J K Rowling has expanded the world of wizard and Hogward's was fascinating, enchanting rather. There have been times when I take any Harry Potter book and spend nights reading it. The way Harry along with Ron and Harmione faced which was thrown in their way, was really encouraging. From fighting Voldemort and his followers to cherishing friendship and family to quirky moments of their dating life, the Harry Potter book had it all in its own little world of Hogward's.
Once the seventh book, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollow was out, I thought it was over. Especially after reading the Epilogue, I was really craving to read more about the world without Voldemort in it. A world where Harry is a regular Dad and Ron and Harmione together. Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is an answer to all those who asked for …
